Case Study Two: Residential Garden
2025
The Brief
To create a garden designed for entertaining, while also incorporating an outdoor workspace tailored to the client’s work as a consultant nutritionist.
The Response
The garden is designed as three distinct outdoor rooms, contemporary in style yet softened by a naturalistic approach to planting. Spaces for entertaining, work, and quiet reflection are carefully balanced throughout the scheme. Closest to the house, lush planting, an elegant water bowl, and integrated bench seating create an inviting and sociable setting. Multi-stem Amelanchier lamarckii and Malus ‘Evereste’ introduce dappled shade and a sense of enclosure for outdoor dining. At the rear of the garden, a garden room clad in charred timber is discreetly nestled among pear trees, ornamental grasses, and medicinal herbs, forming a calm and purposeful workspace that feels both secluded and connected to the garden.
