Case Study Four: Wildlife Garden

2025

The Brief
To design a garden that supports recovery, promotes biodiversity, and deepens the connection to the natural world.

The Response
Conceived as a wildlife haven, the garden is designed to bring nature close, encouraging interaction and observation at every turn. Planting has been carefully selected to benefit pollinators and wildlife, with native species specified to support a rich and diverse ecosystem. Multi-stem Rowan and Field Maple trees create open, airy canopies, offering shelter and seasonal interest for a wide variety of species. Structural domes of Wild Privet are interspersed throughout the planting, punctuating the informal, naturalistic layout with rhythm and form. A screened area beneath native Birch trees provides a mindful wellness retreat, while a dedicated Forest Bathing zone offers a tranquil, immersive space to relax, reflect, and reconnect with nature.
